If you are struggling with back pain in midlife, read on...

Firstly, you’re not alone. This is common for women in midlife. There is a fix.

Women in midlife often start their journey into back pain with a sudden and unexpected dose of “pulling a muscle”, “throwing their back out”, “slipping a disk” or “trapping a nerve” usually doing the most mundane of tasks like picking something up or loading the dishwasher.

Often there is no warning and the job you were doing definitely didn't warrant the outcome!! No exciting story or event to recount, just a day-to-day task resulting in feeling like you’ve been shot in the back!!

Sound familiar?

Well, let me take you back a bit because usually, the pain you are experiencing is the build-up of months or even years of neglect that has come to an unhappy crescendo in midlife. Very often we live with niggles or aches and ignore them, or even if you have no pain, you might be repeating the same movement - standing all day or sitting at a desk for long periods of time, you know it's bad for you, you have some minor aches but hey, needs must!

Either way, this long-term neglect compounded by a reducing muscles mass and support structure in midlife can result in wear and tear, lack of strength, and ultimately imbalance which is where the pain shows up.

Very often as women we have also subjected the area to some past trauma - a pregnancy, a vaginal birth where the pelvis is hugely displaced, a c-section where the core muscles are cut in half, or just years of hormonal fluctuation that has resulted in some instability in the core and pelvis.

So all in all, your back pain is annoyingly unremarkable.

The UPSIDE being that you are not alone, I have seen your struggle before, and I know how to help you!

I work in a way that builds strength in the Core (yep sorry you are going to have to tackle the pelvic floor!), support for the spine, flexibility in the trunk, and most importance a balance of your muscles so that you can begin to move efficiently, without the tug of war that is currently causing you pain!.

If this sounds like it's a solution you’d like to know about watch the attached video, or drop me an email and I'll tell you more about your next steps.
